I've deleted the previous thread. The song sharking remark is the thing that made me delete it. I would never steal a song, it just doesn't make sense. What if one of you are the next Dr. Dre or Nas. I would rather have a long term relationship rather than steal one songbbb. I'll chalk it up as a learning experience. I truly believed I could find a new act this way, and it seems all I did was offend people. There are some shady people in the industry, I guess that's why most that replied were skeptical. The agreement is still up for anyone's review. It doesn't give us the right to do anything nor would we do anything without the owner's permission.

First off tha dome...... I am a music Publisher.... You do not need to talk to me about copyright information. I know more about copyright laws and publishing then anyone on this board.

Second of all, the term NON-EXCLUSIVE simply means that I can also have deals with other people. Your contract clearly states however, that the artist is binded to many of your terms

Thirdly, Reproduce & Distribute simple means re-create/re-manufacture and distribute. This is exactly why the Sound Recording Act is added in the Copyright laws. In the 70's assholes would reduplicate the product and sell it at half the price because their were no Sound Recording Laws.

repost the link...... brutha I'm not tryin to hate on you.... but you really need to reword that entire contract.... It's fucked up period and you totally come off like a shark(even if that wasn't your intention).... If your genuinely serious look at the items I picked out in that last post a tell me why an artist should do business with you..... really!!!!!!!!!

Reproduce and distribute does not mean sell your material.

"We will not, however, sell or license your Material without your approval. You agree that making your Material available to the public through our web site, the distribution of promotional CDs, and any other distribution or any use for promotional or marketing activity is not a "sale or license."

We are not going to bootleg submitted material. This is laughable. I'm not mad though, lesson learned, post deleted. I wish everyone the best.
