subliminal messageing

I htink that those bands accused of causing kids to commit murders is pue BS. Everybody does what they want regardless of the music they listen to. Those band accused have carried that stigma for years, just like Ozzy who is still thought of as a guy who eats bats for breakfast:confused: , give the guy a break. Besides, the message in the Iron Maiden can be found on the album Oiece of mind and it is very obvious that it is something recorded backwards....just befor eStill Life and after The Trooper. After about 9 years of wondering what the heck was there, I finally recorded that piece in Cool edit, played it backwards and guess what is said?????? I could'nt understand a thing because it is Nicko speaking some heavily accented English, but I think it was something about religion though....maybe cursing someone for all the shit they got for their Number of The Beast album....I donno

Why wouldn't you watch it.Those little teen chicks are hotties!

Ok, first of all, by definition, subliminal messages are invisible to the conscious mind and are recognized only subconsciously. Therefore, the democRATS ad, Fight Club porn shots, and 80's alcohol ads are all NOT subliminal messages, because you can consciously see them and recognize them. Same with the Exorcist single frame face shots.
Secondly, the idea of subliminal messages has pretty much been entirely discredited by the psychological community. Most studies show no effect, and the ones that do show an effect have been falsified (on purpose or unintentionally).
Thirdly, backwards masking is pretty much a hoax. Most of the famous examples (ie, "turn me on dead man" by the Beatles) are phonetic accidents/coincedences. Can you imagine the effort it would take to do this on purpose? You'd have to think of what you want the backwards message to say, reverse it phonetically (not simply writing it backwards and pronouncing it like it looks like in the SImpsons episode, which would not work), and then try and make the backwards message make sense so it wouldn't be immediately obvious as a disguised backwards message.
Finally, what would be the point of backwards messages? Not only would the subconscious mind have to hear the message, it would have to phonetically reverse it for it to make any sense.

littledog-- I've seen some more recent ads like that, where the bikini-clad woman is blended in with the ice cubes. Not remotely subliminal but a cool "take" on the 60s flap. I think it was for some kind of gin.

darrin-- years back when I was working at a college radio station, we made a point to look for Satanic messages in Led Zep songs, including "Stairway". None of us could hear it. Now, maybe, since you gave me a "script" to look for, so to speak, I might "find" it.

I have a side project that features "backmasking" in mockery. One says "this is the backwards message. thank you for finding the backwards message." ;)

Not true.

Folks, i work with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and the subliminal thing is a myth, if you're talking about TRUE subliminal messaging. Sub, means below, and liminal refers to the threshhold of human perception...without getting into the comprehensive details (although they are fascinating) if you can't hear it, the brain can't use it. The real benefit to this science lies in programming the mind with repetitive phrases while your brainwaves are in a receptive state, say, theta. This can be accomplished with relaxation, binaural beats recordings that affect your brainwaves, along with recordings of the information you want your brain to embrace. basically, your subconscious mind will believe whatever you tell it. Anyway, you CAN retrain your mind using this technology, but it's not as most believe. And the story about the popcorn sales was bogus--they guy who did it admitted he fabricated his results and they were never duplicated, even by him. You relly have to understand more about how the brian works to understand why the usual "subliminal" messaging does not work.

I make personalized NLP recordings for people, and they are VERY effective. If you tell your brain in a receptive state (theta) what you want it to change about yourself, it WILL CHANGE IT, because, again, it believes what you tell it, and if it's not currently true, your brain will MAKE IT SO.
Class dismissed.

My wife Makes sure we go to the comedy club every time Dustin Diamond comes to town. He calls us by name and parties with us when hes in KC.

Hell Have you seen the incredible looking teen chicks on that show?

The subconcious mind picks up on this stuff and controlls the youth of america. My personal favorite episode dealing with the subject was a Simpsons where Bart and his Pals were in a boy band and thier Message was "Join the Navy".

"YVAN EHT NIOJ, YVAN EHT NIOJ" (as the video plays with karaoke words at the bottom) . ha

I once recorded a band who wanted to shove all kinds of wacky subliminal stuff in their songs, so we put messages in there that encouraged the listener to go permantly impotent. The verdict is still out on whether it worked or not. The dog whistle however, worked great.

And I'll freely admit to watching Saved by the Bell. Come on...Tiffany Amber what's her name was freaking hot!
