Here's the first mix of a new tune. In case you've been following, it is the third and final installment of a trilogy I've been working on. But all I'm asking is that you might comment on this song, Sublime Humility.

Well, let me be the first to congratulate you. This is really very well done. I think I heard the 1st two parts of the trilogy at one time or another but am not 100% sure...

Taste-wise, not really my kind of thing (very orchestrated and precise sounding) as I prefer more visceral sorts of sounds, but looking at your list of influences, this makes perfect sense.

The singing is really locked in and I love some of the instrumentation you have going on here. You packed quite a bit into just over 4 minutes. This is really quite far beyond anything I can produce at present, so I am not in a position to offer criticisms...If pressed though, I guess I'd wish for the vocals to be a bit less dry.

Overall...very impressive.

Thanks! I thought about what you said about the vox being less dry and I have to agree with you. So I put in a little more delay and reverb while still preserving the "dry" feel. Thanks for the suggestion as I think it just adds enough.

My only nit is that you mispronounce humility as humilidy which ends up sounding like humididy which rather spoilt the lyric & intent for my ears.
CS Lewis ought to have known that tuppence is the go.

very nicely crafted and well sung (...well yeah the humidity thing, but it doesn't really bother me). I can hear all your influences on the tracks, but you still maintain your original sound. Well done!

It's fine to be colloquial or even dialectic but if you anticipate an audience beyond that linguistic area & don't expect them to read a lyric sheet whilst listening you're going to lessesn the impact of your message or even make a mockery of it.
If I wrote/sang in the vernacular of where I grew up or even where I now live most of it would be unintelligible to you despite being closer to UK English than Socalingo.
Simply put - don't limit yourself.

I'd actually pay for this song....it's that good, especially the chorus.

Thanks! What you heard was the wet version. I just added a tad bit of verb and delay. Thanks for your encouragement. As far as the next step, I'm awaiting to hear at this point.
