Damned if I do
I should know this, but I don't and I thought I'd tap the vast knowledge base here.

For my main monitors, I'm running a pair of Wharfedale 8.2 actives and a KRK RP10S sub. My problem is that if I want to bypass the sub, my only option is to turn it down. If I turn it off, the signal is no longer passed to the Wharfys.

I'd rather not turn it down as I have all the monitors' levels balanced for each other. So what can I do for a bypass?

My low-tech method is to set the sub crossover to match the rolloff on the mains, split the output, and turn off the sub when I don't want it :o

Like I said, it should seem obvious, but I can be kinda stoopid once in a blue moon. Thanks.

subs

probably doesn't help, if your on Actives.

if passives+amp.

i use a speaker selector (adcom 6-something)..
my sub is on #3..so i can turn it on and off.

the only problem with this is the sub isn't helping out the monitors by taking the sub-freq work... each speaker is on it's own Speaker selector #1thru6.

i know what you mean tho, i wanted the same thing...with and without the sub quickly....and without changing the sub volume knob.

damn its a ruff life nowadays, having to lean over and turn a knob!! by hand!!...heheee

imagine the old guys splicing tape for edits!!! how the hell did they ever get it in time/tempo??
