Hi all,
I just have to tell this, because this is so ridiculous.
For my graduation as a producer student, I recorded and mixed 4 songs. The mixing process was done in a brand new studio our school build just a few months ago. Great studio and equipment, but I was extremely carefull when I mixed there not to break any of the great stuff that we could use there.
Last wednesday I mixed my last song and I was really happy: the mixes sound really like I want them to (I finally saw how much equipment matters!!) and I learned a lot working by myself in this hughe studio.
So wednesday night, after I had finished, I wanted to make a quick back up. I opened the Cd writer, put in a blank Cd-R, and while closing it I suddenly noticed that the small soft rng that was on top of my CD-R spindle was on the blank Cd-R going into the CD writer!
I ran to the studio room to press eject, ran back to the server room with the Cd writer, but the blank Cd came out without the ring. I could write one cd but then the whole Cd writer collapsed.. .. I broke something in the new studio, and the next morning there were several recording session were they needed the Cd writer. I thought I was going nuts!
I just swallowed my pride, made a phonecall with the studio manager and explained it, he was surprisingly calm and had someone fixed it the next morning: They have put in a nw Cd- writer.
So how a great experience had a stupid ending!
Btw, this weekends my mixes wil be mastered. I'm preety proud of them, so I am planning of putting them online , post them in the clinic and give some explanation by every track.
