Hey guys is there anyway to hear what you are recording through headphones while recording? if there is, please tell me how i can do that. thx

What audio interface are you using ? Most current interfaces have a "monitor" button and dial.

What recording app are you using ?

If you're using the computer's sound card you may be limited to software monitoring, which means the signal has to go through the software before getting back to your ears. That takes enough time to be distracting to most people. If nothing else it's educational to give it a try anyway. You'll need recording software that supports software monitoring.

A good interface will have hardware monitoring. What you play is sent back to your ears without passing through your recording software, so you hear yourself exactly when you play, or near enough.

Or go through a mixer first then on ward down your chain and use the monitor aux out or headphone out to do all of your monitoring. ;)

I was going to say the same thing but didn't want to confuse him with too much info. It's a cool way to do it but you have to be sure not to end up recording your output mixed with your input.
