Stupid question - Do most PCI soundcards have Midi Synths?

I am getting ready to replace a SB X-Fi Music Xtreme that has a built in wavetable synth.

I use Ableton and an Axiom keyboard. Do most of the PCI interface cards have a Midi Synth built in?

I am fairly new to this MIDI stuff so any help would be appreciated. I am looking at M-systems and E-Mu PCI cards.

No, only SB cards and other consumer stuff have MIDI synth functionality in hardware. Audio cards for recording don't waste board space on stuff like that. It can be done better and cheaper in software....

Actually, some of the EMU cards do have built in DSP based MIDI functionality.
