Hello,, This may be the dumbest question you have seen.
I am just starting out, and I am really confused about midi.
If I send midi to cakewalk, what kind of sounds can I get?
Just my keyboard sound,or can I change it at all?
I feel really stupid, I hope someone can clear this up for me,
This forum is really the cats ass for newbies,,I am glad there is a place for me to learn this fine art. Any help would be great..

You havent seen nuthin' yet, a month into it and im still as confused as day one!! You need someone to help you right there at your desk i think, (wish) But keep reading!;)

hi sir ludwig, which cakewalk product are you using?do you have any software synths loaded on your machine? either way your in for some serious fun my friend.
 
I am using pro audio, Keith, I dont think I have much software loaded in. I am very new to this. I am pretty excited about it, I have heard using midi is god like, once you get on to it. So everything to me is trial and error. I am willing to spend a few $$.
I just have to find out what I need.
I LOVE THIS FORUM!!!!. It will make it much easier for a guy like me to get started.

Hi sir...
Why don't you learn step by step. I mean, first you learn about MIDI application, then you can step onto Audio. I bet it will be a little bit confusing if you learn both at once. I would recomend (if you have) using more simple seq. software first, to understand the basic way how they do your music generaly. Then after a few days / weeks, you may switch to more complect sequencer. BTW, why dont you tell us more about your PC spec & gears you use ?
Anyway, you right, it's the best forum on line. It's cool & hot at once.
