Ok, i'm recording a band and there's a part where they asked me to mix to make it sound like an old vinyl recording with clicks and pops. how the hell am i gonna do that?

Cool Edit's known for *removing* clicks and pops and background noise, not adding it lol. As far as I know, it doesn't have an effect that adds that kind of noise. So there are two options: find a plugin that does that; or record an old vinyl record - just the five seconds before the music starts or the five seconds when the music ends that's got the scratchy sound. Then loop what you've recorded and add it as another track to the mix.

thanx

thanx a lot :D ... where is the world heading to.. vinyl reproduction.. wow

Thats a very cool plugin. I've used it a few times. It can come in handy for intros and special effects.

Quick question about that.......

If you already have something recorded clean.....Can you run it through that effect?? How would you do that?

thanks,

Either through a realtime (un-destructive) plugin in Multitrack View or by applying the effect in non realtime (destructive) in Edit View.
