im recording some stuff for a mixtape on acid and just using jacked beats at this stage.. so basically importing my instrumental as mp3 and laying a vocal track over it.

can anybody tell me in the simplest terms possible some stats with regard to optimum bitrate (im lead to believe 192kbps is best) and setting levels on my mixer and in acid to get the best quality for what im working with?

are you talking mp3 quality or .wav as it is being recorded?

192 khz recording is an extremely high sample rate. (and i think the highest)

or are you wanting to record as an mp3 at 192 kbps? 192 kbps is a pretty good bitrate for mp3. the highest is 320 i believe.

anyways...you can't record an mp3 in acid. you can export your recordings as mp3, though.

what you can record as depends on what physical things you're recording in to.

what is making the beat? where is it going to get to your computer?

i am wanting to export/render the final product as an mp3. im not making the beat im just importing one that ive downloaded into acid. so my music will be one track and i'll record vocals on another. not ideal, i know, but its as far as my capabilities can stretch at the moment.

im just wanting to know if when looking for instrumentals to download to be my music if they should be 192kbps bitrate? and for what im going to do with them, would the quality end up being okay?

i think you just answered my question tho..
