Hi,
I have a Yamaha QY700 Sequencer with a lot of songs programmed in already. I need to get it into my laptop computer which is set up with n-track multrack software.

Problems:
1) I don't have a laptop USB interface yet. Can someone recommend a good interface to get? One that can take music from the sequencer, a microphone (vocals), and also from a keyboard.

2) I don't have a keyboard yet. Can anyone recommend a good keyboard, not too expensive?

3) How would the hookup work? Should I hook up the keyboard to the sequencer and then the sequencer to the USB interface? OR should I hook up the keyboard and the sequencer separately to the interface? And should I hook up using MIDI cables or analog cables?

Sorry for all the questions. Please help to answer any that you possibly can. i appreciate it!

1) Check out the M-Audio site.
http://www.midiman.net

Also, take a look at http://www.guitarcenter.com or http://www.musciansfriend.com for some more options

2) Check out the last 2 websites.

3) It all depends on the way YOU do your production.

Give us some more info.

Peace... :)

roland?

Hi,
I went through the sites that you recommended, and I found the Roland UA-100-USB Audio Canvas which is recommended for laptops. It has 2 Midi in/out and RCA in and out and some effects so.... It seems like a good choice for me...do you have any opinion on it? Or maybe any ideas on something similar that might be cheaper? thanks for the help!
