I've had my mac now since about june and when i ordered it i purchased logic expresss for 199 and of course as most know it came with garageband for free what i really wanna know is can i make a great demo using just garageband? I like garageband because it is basically dummy proof and logic I'm starting to learn my way thru even though its a little technical. Several studio heads have told me its all about your equipment and booth to make a great sounding demo and that software is all matter of opinion. i have a bluebird mic yamaha monitors, a personus amp and a soundproof booth and it sounds great to me so give me some opinions.

Software is software.

It's possible to make great sounding music with any decent DAW software - the skill is in knowing how to record, which has little to do with software. If you have no recording experience, then welcome, but it can a bit of a road to travel depending upon what you're doing. Don't expect instant greatness.

It's hard to comment further without knowing what type of music you're attempting to record.

What's the purpose of the demo? If its to make a disc to give to clubs as an 'audition tape' to get gigs, GB will work - once you learn how to record (and mix) correctly.

to make mixtapes with I'm a hip hop artist if that helps answer your question should it work good?
