It seems like you're the one that's trying to start things up again.
Why, because I said "Some people like it and some people don't... use the "search feature" as randyfromde said."?

Because when I said that you didn't like the B1, which is an established fact, you started this little hissy fit. That makes me think you want to start another fight. If you don't want to, just drop it now.

I think he was, and in the past you've done the same.
He was simply stating that you vehemently didn't like it, and it is a minority opinion (minority of one :)) - that is the simple truth. There were no aspersions cast. There's no need to defend where there was no offense.

Chill, and get a thicker skin. You brought all this on yourself - only time and a change in behavior (from both sides) will let it die.

You don't want to let it die crazydoc, or you wouldn't have chimed in. :D

Au contraire DJ. I was hoping (stupid me) that a little moderation could keep this from escalating into a worthless shitfest again, wasting bandwidth and everybody's time and energy.

You notice I said a change in behavior on both sides, not just from you.

Again, no one was trying to offend you - CIS was merely stating a well known fact on this board, without any negative bias toward you.

Most of us here are over 5 years old, though you couldn't tell it by the posts of some of us - I being one of the worst offenders. :)

Are we looking at the big flame war #XXVIII ?????

Which pre did you use with the B-1 on 'Mountain'? The Mackie or the DMP3? And, not that it matters but I'm just a glutton for information, what soundcard and program, and what plugs for the reverb?

Very nice, BTW. So far I've only heard it through the pc speakers at work (I have a rough life, I know), but I'm gonna take it home and listen there.

OK, it was the DMP3 for both. Like I said, I recorded the guitar and then turned around and recorded the vocal. Basically all i did was raise the stand so I could reach to sing into it and adjusted the gain so it wasn't red-lining.

Sound card is a Delta 1010. Program is N-Tracks. Plug-in is SIR. If you haven't tried SIR you need to. Very cool and free! I recorded it in 24 bit and mixed down to 16. Burned it to CD and then took it to work and ripped it to MP3 using CDeX, and uploaded it. I have a LAN connection at work, Dial up at home. Takes forever to upload at home. :D

Hope this helps.

As far as DJL goes;

When I first came to this board, DJL was one of my favorite folks here. He always seemed level headed, fairly knowledgible, and always willing to help. I was a little surprized when his feud with Alan started. Very surprised at the level it reached, but I know how strong feelings can get when you think someone's challenged your integrity. I thought it was a shame because I really enjoyed "both" of their inputs here. I must say that I have been optimistic lately when reading DJL's posts and see that he is trying to calm down and let bygones be bygones.

It would sure be nice to see everyone holster their guns for a while and let things calm down.

Blessings, Terry

I'm pretty damn proud of myself for staying out of this one!

Me too!

I have to agree with the consensus opinion that the B1 is an extremely versatile mic for the money, and one that won't live in the back of the locker when you get more expensive mics. It's not a great vocal mic on everyone, but then again there isn't any one mic that works for everybody. It's $80 well spent.

in DJL's defence i don't think he's been like before on this thread or on others recently. the guy's expressing a fair opinion that he's not keen on the b1 on vox. he's not dissing 797/pmi on this occassion so show some grace and let him be!
