What are peoples thoughts on the Studio Projects C1 mic, as a reasonably low cost all round consensor mic

<------------*coughs* *splutters*.

I strongly suggest you do a search here on HR.com ............but best use the term "studio projects" as the search engine won't recognise any word less than 3 letters from memory, so searching for just "C1" is out.

Isnt the V67 discontinued or is that the mars version only. Even though they seem to be fine for the same voices and other uses Id opt for the c1.

Darrin,

the V67G is still available from most retailers, as is the V67B. The V67M was only available through Mars. 8th street music has a great deal going on the V67G with shockmount right now ($129).

I have a Studio Projects C1 mic and I like it.

Marshall V67G - $89 at Sam Ash. If they baulk, show em their own website which has it for that amount. In the stores they have them marked at $179.

I have practiced my random act of kindess for the day
:D

I like the C1 but I wouldn't want it as the only condensor unless you are doing a lot of blues and country stuff. I like it best on vocals. On acoustic guitar it has sort of a 'honky tonk' kind of sound which is cool for some stuff but not everything.

That's the guitar's fault, not the mic:D .

But seriously, the C1 is a great bang for buck mic, but like ALL mics, it isn't suited to every voice or situation.

And I can't comment on the V67's as they unfortunately aren't available here.

"All round" tends to mean a multi-pattern microphone like the
Studio Projects B3 or C3 for me. You may find the omni pattern in particular to be very handy for group vocals or close miking an instrument.
