nt1a for vocals

i have an Nt1a that i tried for vocals dont breath within 3 feet of the suckers dont move around while your singing they have a problem with high sensativity on the bottom end i also have a neuman u87 is good but what really surprised me was the nt3 rhodes for vox a/b betweem the u87 not $4000 difference not much difference at all ii now use nt3 for all my vox .so save your money go buy 2 nt3s

I'd try a brighter mic first. I'd consider the Audio-Technica AT2020, AT3035 or the Studio Projects C1 (brightest of the bunch to my ears). The Shure Beta 58 might be something to try as well. If you can find a used Beyerdynamic Soundstar MKII then try it too.

I think the AT2020 is in the same ballpark as the above mics in terms of sonics so if price is your big consideration then you might start there first.
