Yow-saa!

Very Nice!!!
I'm going to post some updates of my studio soon.
Your room looks sooo comfy!! Easy to spend hours on in in there.

Michael...

Thanks... I haven't had the chance to sit in there for hours yet, but I will tomorrow... so we will see how well it works.

I've got one small issue with standing waves in one of the back corners I still have to deal with, but otherwise the room sounds good too.

Your Monitors

I noticed from your pic, that you are using the Event 20/20's are those the Bi-Amped ones? I'm going to take a mix of mine into a dealer and listen to them on something I have recorded. How do you like them? Is there anything (in that same price range) you would have gotten instead?

Michael,

My Events are the passive 20/20s. I power them using a Carver M400 (cube amp)... the biggest difference if I recall is the order of the crossover (and of course the bi-amping).

I've been very happy with them. They sound entirely different than my NS-10s, which of course lets me know that one of the two is extremely colored... however I have found that the mixes on the 20/20s translate almost perfectly in my car and home stereo.

I don't think there is anything else I would have considered in the price range simply because I bought the non-powered ones AND I bought them off ebay... so I got a good deal on them. I wouldn't have been able to even touch anything else for the price I paid (IE - my NS-10s cost me more than the 20/20s)

If you want to hear a sample of a ROUGH mix I did on these... go check out this link from my band (its not on MP3.com... so we don't get "votes" for you listening)

"Myself" is a great, driving tune right out of the box! The drums set the fast paced tempo that will be sure to keep you rockin' throught the song! The color and texture of this song is unique. A definate "keeper".

And you can quote me on that, Velvet! I really like this tune. It always amazes me how much great indie music there is out there. If we, as independent musicians could organize, we could be a definate force in the music industry.

Michael,

Thanks for the comment... that song (once finished) will actually be coming out on our label release next year... its a fun tune.

That was all recorded on the setup you see in the picture (though at a different location).
