Building or buying an isolation booth is a big undertaking!

Trying to separate the existing room would involve floating walls to physically create an air bubble in-between the two spaces so that you have an effective amount of isolation between the two rooms.

How big is this room as it is now?

What I do, which is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier is to simply use a second room in the house that is a few walls away and with both doors closed, in the control room and the talent room, I am achieving a near perfect isolation between the two rooms.

All that was need to accomplish this was an extension cable for the headphones and for the microphones. My remote control for my 16 track is long enough to reach to either room and the only thing missing is a video monitor and camera link up so that I could see the meters from the talent room but, I seem to get by all right without that.

The talent room can be a bedroom or any other room in the house where you have half decent acoustics in that room so that it is not too live or too dead.

Cheers! :)
