Can anyone recommend a studio headphone for under $75.00?

Thanks.

behringer H8000 headphones....20 bucks...bought 4. no complaints yet

one for me...3 for everyone else in the room doing back up vocals..

Go save 25 more dollars and get some sony MDR-7506 headphones. They work great for me.

lol or just buy 2 pairs of the behringers...work great for me LOL

just messing with ya fldrummer

Are you using them for overdubbing? I've got some AKGs (K22M, I think) I bought for $50 a pair. But for "real" monitoring I use a pair of Sony MDY 7506s.

I'm not talking about overdubbing. "real" monitoring or not...i dont use headphones for mixing. the headphones are basically so everyone can hear themselves when its time to lay it down. are you really monitoring through those headphones? how accurate can you get your mixes? i tried doing that once but learned the hard way

I need phones for mixing since I live in an apartment and at night I will have to use phones only.

Thanks for the input guys :)

SSSHHHHHHHH!!!!

dont let any of the pros like blue bear and them hear you say that......they'll have a cow! or in blue bear's case....a baby bear.....but anyway....just dont turn your speakers up too loud....mixing through the headphones wont give you an accurate mix....I've tried it. however i do put on the headphones if I'm trying to listen intently to stuff that shouldnt be there....you know like someone lighting a cig or breathing or something like that. but as far as placement of instruments....listen through the speakers

Ofcourse thats true.
But as long as I live in an apartment I am limited to that. :)
Thanks

Grado SR-60's. $65 or less. Sweet headphones IMO. Open-cupped, so don't try recording vocals with them, unless you like a little bleed. :+)

For hearing the mix, they work pretty darn well though.

OK I abought the SONY 7506 yesteryda for $99.00.
Unfortunately, it has a very artificial BASS response. Sounds like a synth.

I read some reviews on ZZounds and found a similar complain.
I was surprised it sounded like that for that price. So I am going to return it and try something else.

I need to use headphones only at night since I live in an apartment. I record guitars only, so I will listen to them through my rig.

Hey Ibrow, what is the Grado? Is that a brand name product?

Thanks,.
