How we doin guys?

Haven't been here fer a while ....

I'm wrapping up construction in my studio, and gettin ready to choose a foam for inner room wall treatment (reflection)

I've done some research, and after all this work in the studio, I think I'd like to just go ahead and pick up standard Auralex 2" Wedge Sheets 2'X4' panels 96 sq ft cartons .... (quantity - still to be calculated)

Although I found cheaper prices on 703, I changed my mind about it because of the addtional time and materials needed to build those box frames and cloth needed to cover them .....

And I figure I can apply a 'lite' spray coat of the Auralex Spary adhesive, so I can remove the panels if I ever move into another location - make sense?

Makes perfect sense to me if their product meets your needs.

I would not consider any of the cheap foams - Auralex is definately worth the extra pennies.

Sincerely,

Rod

Enigma,

You might want to look at how I solved the dilema regarding gluing Auralex to your walls.

Have a look at my site (below). I glued the foam to 2'x8' strips of pegboard first, then used two screws (with wall anchors) to hang them from. A couple of screws into the drywall (no anchors) down the both edges holds them flat against the wall.

Can't even see the pegboard unless you look really close.

I'm moving my studio into an 1875 sq.ft. lease space soon. All I have to do is remove the screws on the sides, lift the panel off the two screws they're hung on and off I go.

Also, forget the Auralex stuff in the tube. Get the spray stuff...much easier to work with.

Hope this helps.

Thanx Rod Gervais & pdlstl !!!!!

Hey Hey Rod Gervais!
How ya doin bud?

Hey Hey pdlstl
Howdy too!

Yeah Yeah - I like that idea!

Whaddaya say Rod - sound like a go?

Just wanna make sure first if there are any accoustical considerations in regard to the 'additional backing panels'

Like perhaps the fact that there will obviously be a thin tiny 'space' between the backing panel (pegboard), and the surface of the drywall .... but probably not much ....

Know what I mean?

Thanx a lot!

Mine sit almost flush against the drywall. But a tiny gap would be acoustically unoticeable.

Remember, you'll be killing highs mostly, not bass frequencies.

Michael,

I think it looks like a great idea.............

BTW - I'm doing good my friend - thanks for asking -

How the heck have you been?

Rod

Hey guys. I wonder what the absorption coefficients of "wedges" would be if they had NOT sculpted it. :D
