I really like this song! My thoughts are similar to everyone else. The last one sounds the best to me; it's the most dynamic in my opinion. The bass could go up a bit and I think it would sound great without taking away from the rest of the song.

The vocalist has a lot of potential. His voice is really great, but it sounds like maybe he hasn't had much practice yet. I bet with more practice and as his confidence in his voice builds he'll really shine. I do agree with others that some harmony on this track would sound good. I actually want to say it would sound good with some female background vocals, but I bet even using the same vocalist for the harmony would do the trick if you don't have any other vocalists on hand. :)

The kick drum isn't audible; the tambourine sound makes up for it a bit, but I think I'd prefer hearing the kick drum.

Overall great melody and composition. Really enjoyed it.

I think the last version sounds better to my ears. The vocals sound warmer and more natural.
I am inclined to agree with you on that. I was obsessing over the loudness as some still do these days. I am trying to let go of that in favour of improved dynamics but I think I have a long way to go where mastering is concerned. Thank you for your comments :)

Last night this song popped into my head and I could not get it out. Not that I was that bothered about getting it out.

Thank you for the kind words. I am hoping to get him back for some more recording sessions. He says he is keen but very busy with other things. I can't help wondering how nusy he would be if he could get a few tracks down. He does have potential

Thank you, its a great advertisement for a song when it doesn't leave your head although, to be sure, there are songs you don't even like that won't leave your head, lol

upbeat tune...I like upbeat tunes.......vox sounds slightly lo fi....perhaps a little drier might be cool too....
kick is low in the mix...brass is thin and dry.....needs verb...I like the tambourine though...

Real good song for any age...never mind 17.
