String posts are loose, how do I tighten them?

Pack it in a frame.
I already tightened the nut, but they're still loose.

For clarification, I mean the post where the string is wrapped around. I'm in the middle of restringing and I want to take care of this beforehand.

What kind of guitar, and what kind of gears. Most posts have some degree of slop, but if they are open back gears you can tighten the gear screw. Sounds like they are not, though, so it sounds like they just are what they are.

Yeah I found out that they're supposed to be a little loose without strings on it. I'm an idiot. :D
