Peep Change & change man. I didn't see him come on this thread and be like 'nice drums' lol. He coming out and letting you know. Most of us on the board will sit there, and listen, observe, and suggest things that may help each other or someone else out. I came on this board to learn & teach, not for free play. Do the same.

WELL DAMN SAID!!!!!!!

This is what I mean...

Yeah, you reply to peoples stuff... but you don't say anything meaningfull. You always say "nice drums, dope sample" or "thas a good track, keep it up"... Which, is a bogus reply. You're not helping anyone get better, you're not giving anyone real feedback...

It's just my opinion though, so take it however you want. If you want real feedback to help you get better, you need to look deeper than "nice drums, dope sample". Respect is earned, not given freely.

yeha but the thing is tahts hwta expect back, wethe ryou like dit or not, i dun expect some elborate thing, if ya look closely enough maybe youd realize thats what mos ppl do...w/e if dats how you feel dun leave any feed

Ayo Mindset

One of these days, I'm gonna have to change that banner on your sig for you homie. Can't let you represent like that homie, especially comin' out the homefront.

No disrespect, just maybe some free artwork or somethin' for ya,
Fiev.

Now about the track marg.
I'm not feelin' the woman's singing at all. It throws the track off. The mix on the 2nd verse needs a little work. Actually, the whole track seems to hit and miss on the beat at times. The beat is nice, but it needs to be mixed just a little more though. It seems like the vocals and the beat are in a constant power struggle with no clear winner.

My advice...
Write up a new hook with a more versatile singer. Keep in mind, I mean no disrespect even though it might sound harsh. I would raise the volume of the first verse to match the second. I would cut some volume out of that closed hat you're using in the beat. That seems to be what's fighting with it the most out of that beat. And just stay on it and ride that beat like your life depended on it.

Hoping this helps you,
Fiev.

I'm not really sure what you typed out there but, I think I can grasp some of it.

You don't want real feedback? You don't want to know how to get better?

Ight then...

Here's my fake reply then:

"nice drums, good sample"

I'll just keep it moving.... you clearly don't have what it takes to make it in this music industry.

WELL LET ME BE REAL FOR A SEC... on that "Streets of NY" remix.. I don't like the female vox at all !! IMHO. when I first heard the background chick's vocals they didn't work with the track. The vocals are really, really off-pitch and have WAYYY, WAYYYY too much reverb. I can kinda see the effect you were trying to achieve with that "spacey" sound.... but it doesn't work.. and secondly but most importantly (cuz i didn't even make it to the end of the song) when i heard the female singing on the chorus, or whatever... that *ish* was all bad so i just stopped listening and started typing.... NO HARD FEELINGS but that track needs some work

Well, I peeped the track out too!
I like the concept, but the vocals are off to me too. Not the way it is sitting in the mix, but she is singing flat. I think she can be coached to sing better. Is she lazy? Not trying to be funny, but I find that alot with the vocalists that I work with and her delivery sounds too laid back.
But I do like the concept and where you are trying to go with the song.

Listen!
My question to you is: "Can't you hear that she is singing flat?" Part of producing is being able to identify that, so you may need to expand more in the study of vocals (BASIC, nothing in depth) if you are gonna incorporate that aspect of music into your game.

But keep at it Duke!

Is that singer Alecia Keys? It sounds like her.

yeah it is alecia keys, its a remix, thats why its sounds off, but thanx for the feed, and my mixing could be alot better, im barely into my first yr of producing.

Mixing is not too bad!
What are you using as far as hardware/software? Because all you may need to do is adjust the timing to better suit the key that the rest of the song is in. Depending on what you are using, dudes in here may help you find the tool that you need.
Now I know Alicia is not singing off key, it has to be the beat you did. Every sample won't fit and it seems like this might be one of them, but try experimenting with it until it fits if you want to keep it. Do you have pitch control? Any other timing tool with the equipment you're using? I like the cut, but just mess with the vocals until it's butter!
The thing I have learned from people who sample is timing means everything. If you can't get it precise, it won't be right.
Sort of like "If it don't fit, you must acquit".............

i dont ahve any hardware, i do evrything onfl studio but it ahs alot of editing tools, ill try and mess with eth pitch to get it on point thanx.

remix

alright man I'd say you have remixing skillz which I don't! I think the beat should be doing a whole lot more with a flow like nas! ya feel me? the vocals are a lil too loud and other than that I'd rate this a 5 out of 10.
