Ill have to look hard at that...id think that cutting away at the heel would be the easiest option if that is the case.

I've only skimmed through this thread but a couple of observations. First I don't know if that neck you have ordered will fit the pocket most times you do something like this you have to do a degree of wiggling to get things right. Even like for like necks are rarely a straight swap out.
To get it playing in tune you have to consider the string length and distance from the nut to the twelfth fret. What is the quoted string length on the neck you have compared to the neck you are replacing it with? If you work it by setting the twelfth fret at the midpoint between the bridge and nut you'd be good whatever it is. Make sure you bring the saddles almost all the way forward so you can pull them back when setting the intonation once you have set the neck in.
You also need to look closely at the thickness of the heel so you get the same neck set height and consequently the same action and bridge height. Again you may have to do some wiggling even if the new neck is close. On some guitars with bolt necks you also have to get the neck angle right as well.
You would be very lucky if you can just drop the new neck in and everything lines up. What you want to do is examine the geometry before cracking on. Look to see where you may have to remove wood or pack out with shims. Don't forget measure twice, cut once, think about every step and get the neck clamped up straight and trued before you bolt it down.

I hate to open this can of worms, but I don't see why you'd even bother to do this to a Variax.
If you're dead set on the idea, though, might as well go all-in - Warmoth offers optional Variax routing on its bodies now. It'd be a better instrument all around than a Variax with a Charvel neck.

I looked at those...that looked sweet with the pickguard too...but I didnt think there was anything wrong with the body I have...but if this neck is a problem with the current body I guess Ill look into investing a bit more in one of those bodies.
Thanks for the info Muttley...I might consult a luthier before I proceed to see what would be involved to make it perfect.
