OK threadsters

it's got 12 strings, 18 frets + a zero fret, I'd say it's roughly 32cm in (neck) length

the label reads:--Guitarras de Artesania
JOSE CASELLES
Gata de Gorgos (ALICANTE)
Made In Spain
Fecha

unfortunately I can't supply pics due to a lack of camera

but any info at all would be appreciated, obviously I'll be trawling google etc etc to see what I can come up with my self

Tiple Maybe?

My first inclination is that you may be looking at a tiple. If it is it would have four courses of three strings. Tuning would be A. D, F#, B or A, D, F#, A. It may or may not have octave strings. 32cm (about 12") scale length would be pretty short for a tiple but there is a lot of regional variety with those kinds of instruments. Look up tiples and see what you think. If I'm off track I would need more info.

Don't be thrown by the zero fret. Any fretted instrument can have one.
