Hi, this is my first post, so bear with me...

I've got this odd problem with recording through my mic and PC. It's a pretty old system (450mhz with ensonic soundscape card, appr 6 years old) and I'm using this relatively cheap AudioTechnica microphone. When I'm recording a WAV I get this strange chirping sound every 10 seconds or so. It's kinda like there a nest of birds somewhere in the room. Is this a problem with the PC, soundcard, cables or the mic?

Also, how would you guys rate the ensonic soundscape... is this worth anything at all for a newbie like me?

Any ideas? Thanks in advance,

Joepie

It does it with all WAV recording software, including Windows soundrecorder. that's why I'm supposing it's not a software problem... and no I don't make a habit of keeping birds under my desk :)

Again, what software recorder are you using?

Cakewalk, Voyetra Audio controls (came standard with my soundcard), windows sound recorder
