Hi there, i'm using cakewalk pro audio 9.03 and running on an XP machine. I'm having a problem where i mixed down a project into wma with no problems at all. then, the next time and ever since, i get an error after the mixdown is complete, and the copyright/info screen comes up. as soon as i hit ok on that screen it tells me that cakewalk has experienced a problem and must shut down. I sent an error report to microsoft and that took 10 minutes, almost like it sent the mp3 file to them. and it happens everytime i try and mixdown a song. i've tried mp3 and wma. the first time it worked fine, but not since then. anybody had that happen, and what up with that? thanks,
Jason

bizarre problem man. I imagine this is either a problem with your codecs (mp3 encoder and/or wma encoder), or something in your Cakewalk install got corrupted. If it was me I would probably first do a diskcheck, then uninstall/reinstall cakewalk to see if that clears it up.

FWIW I no longer encode my .mp3's/.wma's in Cakewalk... although it's convenient, there's not very much control over the output variables and sometimes it's buggy. Now I output .Wav, then use AudioGrabber (great program) to encode the file, and use LAME as my .mp3 codec. Now it's much faster and I have tons more control over the encoding process and paramaters.
