Strange delay in DDX3216 with a Condenser Mic

I seem to have a delay into Sonar from my DDX when using a mic.

I'm using the Vamp2 into the desk and its fine ( line level)

But when I record my amp with a condenser mic I get a delay into Sonar and the timing dies,
The mic is going into a small behringer pre-amp and then the DDX.
As far as I can tell I have no delays running or FX.
Its driving me mad!

I'm mutitracking my strat and wont to use both sounds, Vamp2 and amp.
Any ideas?

The delay is on the chanel not as an FX send DOH
