First off I can't play a dang instrument to save my life. I was on my way to taking guitar lessons when my son decided he wanted to play so I sent him instead. So if anyone wants to give this a go its a new country style in my mind...oh and this is recorded with my cheap computer mic. Might be the worst recording you've ever heard ...brace yourself :)

A little background about the song. It might not be the greatest thing I wrote it when I was 13, just seemed fitting to pull it back out and work on it..I don't really like the verses that much but as much as I've tried I can't seem to write anything else then what is here. With that being said...

Stormy Heart (380k)

Outside the rain is falling and your not here with me
I guess I should blame it on this ol damn whiskey
lately I got this feeling its something I can't explain
(spoken)you see
It feels like theres sunshine but theres still that damn rain

baby when you left me, I got this stormy heart
rains all the time and its always so dark
I can't tell the difference between the night and the day
so baby come back to these arms and stay

Baby since you left me I turned my life around
I'm always up and I'm never down
Theres one thing I'm missing, that one thing is you
and I got this funny feeling you'll be here soon...

baby since you left me, I got this stormy heart
rains all the time and its always so dark
I can't tell the difference between the night and the day
so baby come back to these arms and stay

please baby come back...to these arms and stay

Cool man...

Gonna have to listen tonight...I am at work at the moment,
Check ya later,
Joe

Hey man...

I'll make some music for ya,
I'm not that good though...
It'll be pretty simple...guitar and bass...
You'll have to re-record the vox..
and expand on the lyric a bit...

Give me a couple of days...OK?

Take it easy,
Joe

sounds great :)

It sounds great man...might need some help rerecording it though...I don't really have any equipment. I was borrowing a friends mixer. All I have is a MM4 mixer. Nice crappy and small :)

Cool man,

I re-mixed and edited the existing tracks...
You can sing to this....the time and rhythmn will be the same on the final...

I will re-record tonight.....hopefully..

Do you have a multi-track software to record with?

What I will need back is your vox in time with the music...
and another file with just your vox....
lower volume is better than higher....
try and watch out for vox pops...

I will do the mixing...OK?

Let me know man..

I will post again when I am done recording tonight...

see ya,
Joe

it will take me quite a long time to pull your recording down over the modem, so i will just reply on the lyrics-very catchy ideas, all easily understood/related to by many people, particularly the average country music listener, in my opinion. the lines that have "damn" in them unsettle me as far as song flow goes, not because i dislike profanity (i use plenty of nasties as i find them appropriate), but because the pronunciation of the word damn looks, to my eyes, to potentially stand out too much from the lines it is used in. that said, an aware and passionate performance could totally make me 180 on that opinion.

the repetition here also requires some real catchy sounds-harmony choice could make or break it for me potentially.

hey zero..

Sorry, I tried to make it small as possible without making it to bad :P

*thinks* I'm trying to think of how to reply to this...This song went through very few changes since it was wrote. The word "damn" in the song is meant to show the emotion behind the song. "ol' damn whiskey" for instance is to show the "guy" now understands that the whiskey was bad for him and thats why he lost his woman. "damn rain" was meant in the tone he's tired of trying to live without her and he wants her back more than anything in the world. I guess other words would fit but to show the power and emotion I used these...

Leave this one up to Joro, his sound is more than awsome...
