storing/labeling samples

we don't need rest!!
so... you have 50 snare samples, 35 kick samples, and waaay too many other drum samples of various sorts.

How do you label them in your folders, and do you even try to describe them...other than snare1, snare2....etc?

Or... do you just use a few "juicy" selected ones all the time?

It is nice having a variety, but my goodness... how to you differentiate on these CD's that have 1500 samples?
 
I would probably make folders for each drum kit. I wouldn't worry about labeling each sample.

I'd go through each sample until I find one I like and add it to the drumkit folder. Eventually you'll have some kits made all in their own folders and you won't have to sort through them.
 
if you want to spend some money on it...get something like Soundminer:

Although, it's a little costly and maybe only something you should have if you have thousands of files.
