Just getting set up. My second recording. Presonus audiobox preamp and software.
Two guitar tracks direct from my Larivee with Fishman pickup into the audiobox.
A short electric rif recorded with a MXL in front of amp.
Bass played in with my midi keyboard.
Lead and background vocals are me through the MXL.
Drums are a loop from the software.
All comments are welcome of course, but I would love to get some input on two things.
How do you typically record a bass?
Mic in front of amp? Direct to the preamp? Midi keyboard? Other?
Also drums... I am not a drummer. The loops work, but when there is a retarded section (in the musical sense) what is the best way to slow the drum loop down. In this song, I choped up the loop and it sounds OK, but is there a better way?
