See my last post above. I think you are looking for the wrong thing or doing something wrong man.

10 hours? Man, I must be lucky with my internet speed because that never happened to me. Well one time something took that long and I went 'Office Space' on that modem...

It has been a while since I downloaded SSD4, but I do not recall ever having any issues. Maybe the sale on the products is overloading their download page. IDK.

Not right either way...

Yeah, this sale must really be wreaking havoc on their servers. My first try, it took a little over an hour to d/l all 5 files, but they were corrupt. An hour for the 2nd try as well, and they were also corrupt. 3rd try I downloaded them one at a time and it worked, about 17 minutes per file.

Yeah, that suck.

Just going to guess either the company is about to release something huge, or somebody has a money issue and needs to sell shit quick.

It is strange that all of their products are 50% off suddenly. Maybe Mr. Slate just went through a divorce....

In any case, it is not cool that it is this messed up. I feel bad now for recommending....The software is great IMO, but not cool to fight to get it.

I think it's just summertime sales competition.

Waves has been running special sales every weekend on select items, plus they keep tossing up some of the bundles on huge 50% sales from week to week.
Toontrack also went on a sales binge ever since they released EZD2.
Plugin Alliance is just now rapping up a month long sale on their Brainworx, SPL and other brand plugs.
Audio Deluxe carries all of the above...and then they add their own additional discount to most of the above sale items, for their account members.

So lots of sales going on the last couple of months.

I get sales notices almost every couple of days from someone....they're killing me! :D

Yeah but Waves shit is 300% over priced from the get go.

The SS drum stuff was actually low priced to begin with for the quality. I find it unusual that they have shit selling for less than a third of what I payed originally, yet as a user of the software I get nothing special other than spam email to buy more stuff.

Yeah, I bought some other software from SS Digital that I have never found good use for..

Lesson learned.

I still guess a divorce is the cause. Or IRS or addiction. :/

Yeah...some of their stuff carries a high regular price, but with the amount of sales from them and their retailers, you never have to pay the regular prices....and I think the sale prices match the value for most of their plugs.

The Slate plugs are nice, for sure, but I think also they are the current "flavor of the month". I mean, you take the Slate bus comps, and you can find equally good comps from Waves (JJP/CLA/etc)...or the Slate "virtual tape" is no better/worse than the Waves tape plugs.
I'm looking at the Waves EQ plugs right now (API 550A + 550B or the PuigTec EQP-1A + MEQ-5 EQ) and you can get either set for like $68....that's what I got them for a few months ago when they had sales.

I also think the Brainworx stuff is so underrated and overlooked by people only because it's not as hyped as the Waves and Slate stuff, and they've had some crazy prices this past winter. I think I have almost every one of their plugs at this point. They are always highly recommended by folks that have/use them...so no risk with them. They are not all pretty graphics, just basic white/black stuff....but the functionality and audio processing quality is superb. :thumbs up:

You know...it's all good stuff....just a lot of different "colors" to pick from. I'm sure now that I have most of the Waves that I wanted, plus the other stuff....I'm going to start adding some Slate plugs.
I doubt I use more than a handful of any for a given mix.....but, they won't go bad, and when there's great sales, it's too tempting not to grab some, rather than want/need one when their at full prices.
The Salte bus comps are on my list for sure!

For $99, I figured i'd give SSD4 Platinum a try! Just have to wait until I've moved house before I can download it...

Is internet speed an issue where you live then?

Not sure about your country but in the US you could take a laptop to a location with fast WIFI and download there. Then copy the files over at home.

Or just order the boxed version...

I think they are selling the boxed version for $149.....at least that's what I saw at a few places, and Slate site just has "download" as the option, I don't even see a boxed option.
I would prefer boxed for the app to just downloading. I don't mind downloading sample packs, but I do like to have the main app in boxed format when possible....but I don't want to pay extra for it! :D

No, I have super fast broadband. I've just packed away my studio until the move!

When I told them of my troubles with the downloads they offered to send me a disc with the files on it. If you want one, I assume he meant free. By the time I got the e-mail, I had already gotten all the downloads correctly.
The other problem I'm having is the install program. Maybe I should re download it. It doesn't act right and doesn't install the .dll There's only an AAX file (and it was hard to find as it installed under Amplitube). Maybe that's what I need to point Reaper at.

It's definitely a .dll that you're looking for. I had to google AAX and it looks like an audio file format. It's definitely not a code library. Not a bad idea to redownload the installer, make sure it's the Windows installer, and give it another whirl.

I really wish I could help doods. I just downloaded it and it worked in my DAW first time.

I can't really be of help since I don't use the software hosts you are using. :(

The dll file you are looking for is called SsdSampler.dll

HERE is a link to download of the actual file if you need it. Obviously it does no good if you have not loaded the samples, but maybe it will help.
