Hey guys,

The guitarist in my band really, really, and I mean REALLY love Steve Vai's signature electric guitar JEM7V. It's his dream guitar but he is sad that the neck is a little too big for his hand that he would struggle to wrap his hands around it, which would make it very difficult for shredding. What he wants is a replica of the exact same guitar but a smaller version that would fit his hand better. I told him I would help him ask around to see if there's any shop that would do that. He's willing to pay any reasonable price as long as it fits him and as long as it plays and sounds like the original JEM.

Do any of you guys know of any place that does this kind of customization? And a quick question; does Steve own this model or Ibanez own it; or, do they both own it? Does people have the rights to replicate this guitar or do they need permission?

We've been playing in the same band for quite some times now and he's a good friend. Any help for him?:D

Any advice or suggestions are much appreciated.:)

Wait, that neck is too BIG for him?

WTF, is he 3 foot 5 or something? The only necks I've ever seen smaller were when we were refinishing some guitars for Prince.

Yes, the neck is to wide vertically for him. He want to be able to play the bass notes with his thumb. For example, he want to be able to play the D major chord in first position and use his thumb to curl over the neck to hold the F sharp note. With the original JEM he can't really do that. He's about 5'2.

Does that helps?:D
