Hi,
I went to a friends gig the other night and a woman was recording it with a stereo neuman mic. She told me the model # but I cant remember it, it was mounted way up on a wall so I couldn't really get a good look at it. I've always wanted a stereo mic for my cabinet. I'll usually xy a pair of 57's for a jam out by the fire or the like, y'never know when some kind of magic might happen. I think it would be cool to just put up a stereo mic and run it into my little sony dat player. Any recomendations for inexpensive/mid-range stereo mics and their quality? Is it truly stereo? How do you rout it to two tracks, just 1 input to a linked set of tracks? Thanks in advance

Heeeyy dude!

In this month's musicians friend they have the Sony ECM-DS70p stereo mic that terminates into a 1/8 inch stereo plug.I'm sure a trip to radio shack would get you any adaptors you might need. It's selling for $75.

They also have the Audio Technica AT822 One Point for $280.I haven't tried either of these so maybe someone who has will chime in.

The new Rode NT4 looks way cool but I think it's going to be a little more expensive. It looks like a mic that would definatly have other uses than field recording.Damn it I think I want one!!Anyone know of a good GAStrologist? :D :D :D

NT4 looks way cool. Available in April. Should retail in the States for about $400 - $450.
