Okay, I record my guitars in stereo. I put my SPDIF out on my Vetta II to my SPDIF in on my sound card. All is well. But when I record vocals, I go into my preamp and then line in to my sound card but I'm only hearing sound from one speaker.....but when I turn the line in into a mic input (from my settings on my soundcard) it then goes to stereo....

So, I guess my problem is with my line in not recording in mono.

Is there a setting that I'm missing somewhere where I can switch the signal to mono so I can record in mono?

Did that make sense?

The line input is a stereo input, you need to send it a left and right signal. The mic input is a mono input.
If you want to record mono line level signals, you need to set up a mono track in your daw, and select the input that you plugged into. Then you will be able to pan that mono signal anywhere you want.
If you are having problems monitoring the signal, you need to open the soundcards mixer and pan the input to the center.

No. Actually it goes to mono. The reason you are hearing it out of both speakers is that the mono signal is panned center.

Since you already have a pre-amp, you will want to use the Line In port, as Farview explained. However, set up your DAW track to record a mono signal, not a stereo signal.
