hi everyone.

i am recording some songs for my band. i have no trouble with stereo mix but i couldnt say that for mono. we recorded a video and some video stations dont support stereo sound jet. they said that they want mono mixed songs for videos. do you know any easy way to achieve that compatibility in mix. i give one guitar on left site and the other on right. but when i listen to that in mono it sounds really crappy.

i hope you undestand what i asked.

thanks for your support.

What's a stereo sound jet? Is it when their flying at mach 1 and the sound seems like it's all around you?

what format is the movie going to be on? analog/digital tape or digital quicktime movie, etc.?
i just find it hard to believe any video station doesn't support stereo....it's 2005 now isn't it?

You should always test for mono compatiblity IMHO even if there is no plan to ever listen on anything but stereo.

It basically sounds like a phase or EQ issue with the guitars. Try both of the following:

1. Delay one of the guitars a bit, if that fixes it was an issue with phase. This can happen even though the guitars were recorded separately.

2. Try complimentary EQ between the guitars, I.E. boosting a particular frequency in one guitar while reducing it in the other.

Hope this helps ...
