Hey all, this is Jason from AEPOC, and it's my first post.

I need a simple and inexpesive way to record into my computer in stereo. The reason why is because both of my keyboards (Roland JP-8000 and Roland RS-9) and my drum machine (Boss DR-770) are currently being recorded in mono (through the 1/8" recording jack in my PC's standard sound card). I need stereo because of the keyboards, obviously.... but more importantly for me, is the drum machine. When I want the kick on the center channel, but the snare, open and closed hi-hat, cymbals and toms panned, I cannot record it that way.. it'll just be in MONO.

I've been looking at USB audio interfaces, but none of them tell you if it RECORDS IN STEREO. The Roland UA-30 looks to be great, but I don't know if it's the cheapest way to record in STEREO, and it has driver problems.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

If you get a soundcard with two or more inputs then you can record in stereo. The Lexicon Core 2 ($200 US at Musician's Friend) has four inputs and eight outputs, so this should definitly work for you.

you sound card shoud be stereo. Are you sure you are going into the line in instead of the mic in? the mic in is mono. the line in on just about any soundcard is going to be stereo- i'd almost say every but there might be one. Do you have the right cable? Hate to say it but sounds like your doing something wrong. What recording software are you using? be sure you have the track that you are recording to armed for stereo, or that you have two mono tracks armed.
