Stereo Overheads...

I need overheads to mic my drums and I'm thinking of going with something like this because the budget is tight right now. How can I interface this into my soundblaster card? I'm also curious about placement. Suggestions, please? Thanks in advance.

there's actually a resonant head on my bass drum but that shouldn't matter.
 
Hey Shadow...you went one better for proper usage of those tin cans!..and it would help solve our rubbish disposal problem..:D

Ok, we do this again.

Time align first. Over the snare, string 1. #2 from the arc, to the side and back a bit over the sholder. (No, play with it. There's no "best spot".
Then taut the strings to input.

That's just fucking stupid. Those cans are way to thick to pick up any high end. You cymbals are going to sound washed out. Everyone knows you need to use pop cans they are thinner and resonate better.
Jesus fucking noobs coming in here and asking the same question over and over. Try the fucking search function next time ok pal?

While you're at it search for "recorder man" and learn to properly place overheads. You're going to end up with a muddy phasey mess the way you are doing it.

used to use the vintage tube version on tour back in the 60's drummers never took to em and too many stick dents but LOVELY sound rattle rattle

Placed tightly over the ears. Hold in place with duct tape strapped vertically over the head and horizontally across the face. It'll be awesome.

Here's a trick - if you prefer a colored sound, use unopened cans. I use ranch style beans for the brown sound, but I've also had luck with cream of mushroom, or even just chicken noodle if I didn't have anything else. Different food = different flavors -- don't limit yourself!
