Are you looking for "one" microphone e.g the T mics (the ones i've seen i highly doubt they are worth getting due to quality).
or two seperate microphones, to use in the XY technique (same model etc)?
or two seperate microphones, to use in the MS technique (figure 8 & cardiod)?

Rode NT4s $450avg USD

Hi, I want 1 microphone, because it is for collecting sounds outside (in the street) not for on location recordings where I have time to set up a stereo configuration. It's just convenience really.

Say from £70 upwards but wouldn't want to go over £250 (That's the absolute maximum). I know Sony do an ECM-MS907, which is about £73, so maybe something of slightly higher quality than this. Any ideas?

£250 = $445USD

Ok theres:
Rode NT4 $450
Beyerdynamic MCE82 $435
Audio Technica AT825 $370
Audio Technica AT822 $260
Sony ECM MS957 £199 @ Turnkey

I had a little search, and it seems its going to be cheapier getting it from
the US, even with shipping + conversion it seems like its still going to
work out better than getting them locally.

No problems, the only one i've heard is the Rode NT4s on piano and they
came out pretty nice but nothing in field recording.

I recommend waiting for a few more responces from some of the more
experience members to give their opinion / suggestions.

Good luck with the choice :)
