What STEREO mics is good for recording LIVE rehearsals or live jams???

What is your budget, walty-old-boy? I've heard some good recordings made with the Studio Projects LSD2. However, I'd be more inclined to get separate mics, rather than a single stereo mic, just for more versatility in mic configuration. A pair of Earthworks SDC's or AKG C414's would sound great. For cheap, get a pair of CAD M179's.

It's by no means a professional solution, but I've know a few bands that have had surprisingly good luck with the Sony stereo mic, made for mounting on camcorders. You might need a pad to bring the level down a bit (if you're as loud as my band!), but they work decently...

There are a couple of sites that outline how to make a pad, but basically, it's just a couple of resistors, one in line with the positive side of the mic, and one between the positive and negative sides. The ratio of the resistors determines the amount of attenuation.
I'm sure there are otehr guys around here who can give you more details, but here's a site that I used when making something similar:
