stereo drum mike ?? on ohs

When one talks of overhead mikes being "stereo miked" especially for drum cymbals...does that mean panning one mike full left and the other full right?

Or does it mean running into mixers "stereo inputs" ?

This means setting up the mic's in a stereo pattern, like xy, ortf, m/s and so on. Do a search on drum mic'ing techniques. After you place the mics in a stereo pattern you can either make 2 tracks and pan hard left and right or just set up a stereo track which basically does that for you.
