Hello there all! I finally got a new audio interface: The Steinberg CL1 , :D . Now, I only have this one problem, that is, when I try to get my microphone to be stereo (without guitar, I want the microphone to play on both left and right channels ) . Can anyone help me with this?

Hey. What daw is it?

A normal microphone is a mono piece of equipment, so generally you record from the one input onto a mono track.
The mono track is then set to play out L+R, or 1+2.
Then pan knob on that mono track allows you to move the recording between L+R.

If you've recorded to a stereo track, the recording will probably play out of the left side only by default.

Its the WaveLab Le 7. What I meant by I want stereo, is that I want both left and right track to be the EXACT same, so it doesn't has to be set to mono. Just like the Toneport UX1, it makes my microphone "stereo" by making both left and right audio the same.

Is there a reason you want to do it this way?
In terms of what you hear it's the same as a mono track, except maybe for the volume.
A mono track will play out of left and right speakers equally.

Ordinarily a stereo track takes its left side from an input and it's right side from the next consecutive input.
In any DAWs I've used it's not the norm for one hardware input to be printed to both sides of a stereo track.

Maybe someone else here knows your software better?

Yes, there is a reason, because I don't want to change all my settings from Stereo to Mono.

Hmmm. You may have to.

Look through your software settings menus.
There's usually an IO tab that allows you to configure ins and outs.

More often than not they're tied in pairs, but if you can do it, that's where it'll be.

Another question, why is it that when I plug in my Razer Carcharias into the Audio Interaface ( With a 1/4 inch jack converter ), it only plays on the left side of the headphones? Could it be that its mono and only plays on the left? How do i make it play on both headphones?

Bump, someone please help! My left audio is the only one working for my Steinberg Cl1, its not playing on the right side!

Same result with commercial music? If so make sure the jack adapter is balanced/stereo. There should be 3 metal contacts, 2 black bands.

the Toneport[/URL] UX1, it makes my microphone "stereo" by making both left and right audio the same.
It's not making anything "stereo". If it's really doing what you describe, which I highly doubt, then all it's doing is wasting a track for no reason. A mic is a mono source and it should be recorded onto a mono track. That's how you have the "exact same thing" coming out of your left and right speakers.

It's true man.
Your final mix output is still stereo and your mono tracks can still span the stereo field by panning, so really no settings should change.

Oh silly me! I figured that I had to use a balanced plug! The two stripes one! Thank you so much guys! End of case! I am happy with the results!
