Update:
"You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later."

Forget it, Jim...It's over!

Cheers dude!
I wish I was. That man is a legend.

I remember when I first heard this song, I thought it was someone doing a cheap Tom Petty rip off! :p

Was so pleased with myself when I found out Petty wrote/co wrote it.
It's the way the words 'cheer down' are sung. That's pure Petty IMO.

Yeah, I felt the song had a great "Travelling Wilburys" vibe, and when I looked into it, I noticed that Tom Petty had collaborated.

But seriously, you've done a really enjoyable cover! Maybe a submission for Mix This???

Paul

Thanks Paul. :)

Funny you should say that.
I originally set out to record this and not mix it, so I could just submit it to the open forum.
I kinda got carried away though.

I want to add a few more harmonies and do a few other things tomorrow, but after that I might submit it.

Oh lord, like we need another great song in the Mix This forum. Sigh....

lol! I concur! I would love to get my greasy hands on it! :D

LOL.
That's like me with the snooker.
If I had a job, I totally wouldn't turn up when the snooker's on.

Ok, halftime...

I gotta say, I really like the song. I would adopt you, if it were not a cover. Ignore that. lol

The first thing I noticed, is that the main girth of the kick, is below 80Hz, and it seems non-existent with my sub off, or in my small PC type monitors, which actually have some good low end.

Shit dood, my wireless keyboard batteries just died instantly, responding here. It is an omen.

Anyway, also, I hear that the bass guitar could use more 'girth', only after the kick has more punch in the 80-110 realm.

I would love to see this tune in the Mix This forum. I know I will have fun with it myself.

Great recording Steeno! You have nailed the playing and vocals perfectly IMO! Well f***ing done dood!

Now back to my Bronco game. Snooker??? Job???

LOL!

Hmm...I'll have to add that to tomorrow's list.
I think the lions share of the kick sound is coming from a room mic and the overheads.
I'm sure I'll be able to sort it out. :)

Thanks, Jim.

Did you just call me 'Jim'. My Mom called me Jim......Once....

Neg rep for you my friend....

Dammit! I must spread again. Jiff gets some now...

Hey, the vocals sound great on this. Particularly the harmonies. Well done.

I don't know the song, but it certainly sounds like a later George Harrision arrangment/melody, etc.

Guitars sound nice too. I'm not too excited about the drums. The snare to me is kind of floating out there by itself. I would fiddle with the tone of it (kind of papery?) and maybe drop it back a bit while raising the kick considerably. Just some thoughts.

Cheers heat.

Greg and Rami said the same thing, although I did make improvements since then.
That tells you how bad they must have been at the start.
Jimmy mentioned the kick last night too.

I'm just not getting the kit right.

I'll maybe let is it sit with me for a day then remix afresh.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Just send me the tracks, and let us all destroy your mix for you! :D LOL!

OK I give in!! It's a karaoke track!!!!! :(

You just had to push it, didn't you.
