The intro was done using Acid, and everything else was recorded and mixed on my 400Mhz Computer if you can believe that. I have the gadget labs 8/24 so I can record 8 tracks at once. Usually, unless recording multiple instruments I only use multiple recording tracks for the drums. Then everything was mixed using Sonic Foundry's Vegas Audio. Mostly Shure mics for guitar, bass, toms, and snare...a couple condensor mics for drum overheads and an AKG D112?? (shoot....can't remember at the moment) for the kick drum. Slowly trying to improve my mixing and mastering...extremely troubling at times. I played all the instruments....hence the reason that none of them are much beyond marginal. I'd be happy to answer any more questions ya might have in more detail if you like. Thanks for the comment.

It's real encouraging to see you use a 400 mhz pc. I was worried about my 900 mhz pc. I thought the song had that "live" sound, so I just had to find out how you did it. Being just a newbie I'm trying to learn the ropes so I appreciate all the info. Also your playing is quite good. Looking forward to hearing more from you kormaniac.

Thanks JR....I have a few more I'll be posting soon.
Since I play all the instruments for the song, it surely isn't a natural live sound, but I think the snare drum reverb effect I used helps with that, as does the creating a duplicate of the guitar track and then panning them left and right to 'open' it up.
One catch with my 400Mhz computer is that it is SCSI, so it will be a bit faster than a normal 400Mhz computer.
