I'm looking at recording through my computer which is a compaq but i'm setting it up for audio recording( single track at a time since i don't do like any band recording's or nothing like that.) I was thinking about going with the M Audio Fire Wire 410, Behringer UB-2442 12 channel mixer board, ART D10 Preamp System and was wondering if that's a pretty solid way to go starting out i'm trying to stay away from all the noise interference, and hissing introduced into my vocal tracks, if anyone has better advice please give i need help and fast.

one question i have is why do you need a 12 channel mixer if you are only recording one track at a time? True it is nice to able to controll all of your tracks once you have them recorded but a hardware mixer is not necessary.

What software will you be using to record, and more importantly what microphone are you using. A good condensor with a nice pop fiolter will definately improve teh vocal quality of your recording.

I'm using Samplitude 7.0 classic well actually what do you suggest i was thinking of going with the Echo Layla 24 digital recording system and the Tascam USB-428 for use as a surface controller any pointer's for me????????

I also don't understand why you need that many channels. For the money, you can get a mixer (Soundcraft M-series, Mackie, Yamaha M/G) with MUCH quieter pre-amps, though you will have to sacrifice several channels.

Why the hurry? Take your time to LEARN all about what these devices do, their features and what they mean, as well as the basic of recording. You'll be much better off in the long run if you take the time to learn before buying stuff you don't understand.
