i have a dell inspiron 8200, will this be able to handle all needed software for me to record and digitally remaster live shows from our band?

i have a yamaha 6 channel pa/preamp head and cakewalk music creator software and i am for now just recording/playing my dean acoustic/elec guitar through this setup

i use the comp mic in for recording, is there a better way to go? i am getting a lot of static even when i am holding the strings mute.
why is this?

The Mic In has a very low quality preamplifer. It's made for games, and little sound messages that you send to your friends.

You can record through the Mic In, and clean the sound up, if that's all you can afford, but buying a seperate mixer or preamp is a much more hifi solution.
