Does anybody have suggestions for a basic stand alone CD burner? I'm not looking for one that does anything but burn CD's, though it looks like most are also DVD burners. I'm thinking about getting a Fostex MR8HD and want something I can use with that. What might be good?

Harman Karden (i think that's how it's spelled) makes an EXELLENT recorder. It's so easy to use and it has all the latest features. It's not cheap; $400+.

I was looking for similar, and this might sound like being dumb, but the solution was a free used Dell Pentium I and Windows 98. Most CD burning software has a "copy a disk" option, using one drive. If you can get a second CD drive in the PC, you're laughing.

You know someone with an old PC in the closet ?

Depending on the soundcard, you can copy analog to the hard-drive and then burn the CD.

Just note that converting MP3 to WAV, etc will work, but be verrrrrry slooooow.
