Hello everyone. I truly enjoy hearing the recordings and the resulting discussions. I am a newbie and have learned alot about LISTENING from everyone here. I actually enjoy listening to the radio again!

I have only been following the boards for a few weeks and have also been having real popup ad/spyware type problems with my computer for about the same time. After much time and research, I have found several trojan horse/spyware apps on my comp and deleted them with Zonealarm, SpyBox, Pestpatrol, etc. I am now CLEAN!!! AMEN!

Why am I posting this??????
Well, my first attempt at accessing nowhereradio.com is resulting in a warning from "spybot" (a spyware protection app) that says I am trying to download "targetNet" which is a "known threat."

Has anyone else had any problems with this on nowhereradio?
I really have enjoyed hearing everyones music, but I can't have ads and porn poping up on my screen all day!! LOL

FYI,

Doug

I'd love to get an official response from Waldo on this one (when he has the time). I mentioned getting pop-ups awhile back and was told by him that "Nowhere doesn't have pop-ups".

But it's become quite apparant that they do, and that there are more now than there used to be.

One thing worth doing is running the tests at "Shields Up"

If you're getting a lot of spyware apps, you probably have a security vulnerability somewhere that the tests can help you isolate. Better to fix these problems at the source than to clutter up your system with a lot of other "preventative" software.

Per Waldo, he sort of admitted it was possible that some of the adware supplied by his advertisers could do be doing that. I'm always very careful to say "no" to do-you-want-to-install type questions, and haven't had a problem. Yet.

Ive seen several posts pertaining to spyware, adware, and java exploits from NowWhereRadio, but I haven`t had any problems here running winxp with netscape on cable modem.
