Splitter Recommendations?

Hi all,

I've got a Behringer DI20 that I use for splitting guitar & bass signals between an amp simulator and an actual amp. It works okay, but my experience with other pieces of Behringer gear makes me wonder if I'm losing some signal in the process.

I saw the Nady DB-1 online, but sometimes their brand is as iffy as Behringer, anecdotally.

Got any leads?

not saying that you couldn't find a product a bit more robust then Behringer but gut reaction would be, between Nady & Behringer, twiddleedum twiddleedee

You can find DI boxes ranging up to a grand with Tab-Funkenwerks supplying a particularly useful one

Almost any of the Radial JDI options would a bit better build then Nady or Behringer with this falling in the middle of the pack price wise and offering roughly equivalent options as the Behringer

If what you have is working I wouldn't get too excited about replacing it just to replace something Behringer, particularly if you are not gigging heavily

The primary complaint about Behringer is that oppurtunistically appropriate the design effort of others, then build to a price (when a $.36 part would make something appreciably more functional they will still opt for the $.12 part even when there revenue would be $30 on a $120 retail item), then eschew any legitimate qc. There are particular problems with power supplies. But that should not impact the DI you have so if you are satisfied with the performance your primary uncertainty would be how long item might last . . . a magical question for which there is no way to determine a response.

The only Behringer product I own is Headphone distribution amp on which I lucked out, with regard to power supply circuitry, that typically is powered on 8-18 per day and has been for 6 and half yr. I typically avoid Behringer at least in part due to uncertainty as to when it will fail but while I might try to have a back up device in the wings if some behringer device was working and I was satisfied with performance I wouldn't kick to the curb just because of the name

Whether you feel you would benefit from increased cost of a Radial (or Tab-Funkerwerks) is question on you can answer

good luck

I also had the Behringer you have---as versatile as it is (DI or splitter), I didn't notice signal loss but I did notice added hiss. The battery compartment is a nightmare.
