Okay, this isn't serious recording, but I think it was fun. I'll give you the scenario before you have to make the decision to download.
My co-writer/bass player and I were working on a tune when we dicided to take a break. He walked up to the mic and said "play some music and give me a topic." I rolled this strange track I had been working on and gave him the topic of "jacking off to Winnie the Pooh" (this was based on a story I had heard recently re: a guy who would masturbate everytime he saw Winnie the Pooh). My friend did not know I was recording... If you feel compelled to do so, go to

That's pretty cool!!! Good luck getting it on the radio or MTV... :D

When it comes to doing weird shit like that on the spur of the moment it's always best to tape it... you just never know if it's gonna be cool. Wherever possible I always try to record all rehearsals just in case.

Thanks Cooperman! You are right about rolling tape on everything. I can't count how many precious moments I have missed because I didn't think of that!

Honestly, I have no idea who Joe Frank is, but maybe my friend does...wouldn't surprise me. But here's the thing (I don't know how long Joe Frank has been around) This guy and I have been recording on and off for 15 years. We started on a little 4 track in my living room when we were 14. He was doing the same kind of stuff back then, even with a similar meter! I have this one blues song (Chuck Berry riff over and over) with him improving over it. Pure genius on his part!! Anyway, enough of me tootin' HIS horn...
 
Even better! If you've never heard Joe Frank that's reason enough to load a Real Player.
He has a slowly shifting hypnotic lick going in the background and approaches some tough topics with piercing humor, much like that Pooh Spew clip. Another case in point:

This monologue is one amazing extended dream sequence that's hilarious as well.

I like that. Its brings me back to the good old days. I played bass with a band a few years ago, and we needed an openning act, so we asked this friend of ours if he would like to do some of his comedy routine. We didn't know what he was going to do, so with a crowd of about 200 or so people in this bar, he played the music for 2001 a space oddessy? and didn't say a word. But for the length of the song he just pretended to be slowly pleasure himself, until the climax of the song came when he pretended to do his thing. That was it. The owner of the club looked very nervous throughout, and kept pleading with us to get him off (hehe) the stage, but we couldn't. They never let us play there anymore though, but it was worth it. Pretty strange to play music after that. He was a strange young man.
