This is a re-do of a song I put up last summer. I retracked the rhythm guitars and bass. I added a little backwards guitar and a high harmony part. Greg_L did the drums, and those tracks are the same. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

The 1st STICKIN' sticks out a bit.
The fuzz licks sound just a little bit fat and full - the lead tone is leaner & sounds a little better to me but that's personal pref.
Sounds cool.

I like it. The only thing I'd try if I had my hands on this one would be to add some size to that fuzz guitar. Double it and distort the second one even more? Make it dirtier and bigger. The vocals are great, and the song's tight. Nice.

rayc - thanks. I'll check out the first "sticken". should be easy to deal with.

dobro - thank you. By "fuzz guitar" are you referring to that riff? Or are you referring to the main rhythm guitar? I'm guessing it's the riff but I wanted to be sure (the rhythm guitar is already doubled). I appreciate your thoughts.

I think it's pretty good. From my drums standpoint, I think the toms are little boxy and you're using too much overhead.

I think this is sounding pretty great. I remember this tune quite well.

I like the tone of the cymbals a lot, but I guess I thought that maybe they were a little loud in relation to the rest of the kit. I thought the guitars and vocals sounded great and the bass sounds much clearer than I remember from before.

Riff. It sticks out somewhat. I know it's supposed to do that. But still...

I think I remember this too. Nice tune and good performances all round. I thought the bass was a bit too prominent throughout - it's very clear, but I think it draws too much attention and kind of overshadows the vocals in some respect. I wasn't too sure whether the vocals could come up a touch or whether they'd be in the right spot if the bass was a little lower.

Other than that cool

Just A/Bd it with last-year's mix. The vox are bit louder and clearer, but otherwise, it's a very similar-sounding mix.

Sounds great. I love the riff, and the mix sounds right to me, although I think I'd like the vocals a little louder. Fun song!

Greg - I didn't touch the toms from last time, but I'll give them a listen. I'll check out the OH's too.

heatmiser - yeah I worked on the bass tone a bit. It's a retrack. And yeah I was trying to get a sound that had more distinction in the bass. In the first version, the notes all kind of ran together.

dobro - got it. I'll see what I can do.

robgreen - I thought I had the bass sitting about right when compared with similar pro mixes. But I'll give it another listen.

VHS - also compare the rhythm guitar. That's fairly different too. This version is less fizzy and has a stronger low end.

dewhitt - robgreen said he thought the bass was drawing attention away from the vocal. I wonder if that's what you're hearing too.

Thanks everyone.
